Can my Vizio device stream Amazon Video On Demand content with 5.1 audio?
Many of the HD movie rentals and HD TV shows are 5.1 audio capable. Videos that are encoded with a 5.1 audio stream will have the information displayed in the Video Format Details section.

There are a few things you need to do to enable 5.1 audio:

1. Connect your Vizio device to a Dolby Digital capable receiver using a digital optical cable.
2. Set your receiver to Dolby Digital mode (and not pro-logic or other multi-channel simulation modes).
3. Set your Vizio device to surround sound (Press the "Yahoo! Widget" key on your remote, go to TV Settings > Audio > Digital Audio Out > Dolby Digital).
4. In the Amazon Video On Demand widget select 5.1 surround sound (press the green button on the remote, choose "Audio mode," click "5.1 surround sound")
5. Be sure you have sufficient bandwidth for HD with 5.1 audio.
6. Play an HD Movie Rental or HD TV show with 5.1 audio.

Why am I seeing buffering when watching videos?
Buffering, or a pause while loading or playing your video, is generally caused by a slow Internet connection speed. Your broadband Internet connection speed can vary for many reasons that are most likely not related to the Amazon Video On Demand service itself. Please check for these common issues:

Wireless Connection Strength
Devices connected to the Internet through a wireless connection may experience slow connection speeds. To improve your wireless connection, try moving your wireless access point closer to your Vizio device or, if possible, connect your broadband-enabled device using a wired Ethernet connection.

Shared Internet Connections
When your device is connected to the same Internet connection as other computers or devices, this can impact your Vizio device’s connection speed and video quality. This is most likely to happen when someone in your household is downloading files, playing video games, or watching videos online.

Connection to Your Internet Service Provider
If your connection speed is much worse than usual, you can try resetting your broadband modem or router to ensure you have the best possible connection to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). If the unusually slow speeds continue, call your ISP to troubleshoot the problem if it persists.
